The PetSafe Microchip Cat Flap reads the most common type of microchip in cats - FDX-B (15 digits). Please note that microchip numbers with 10 digits, letters, and those starting with 977xxxxxxxxxxxx and 98514xxxxxxxxxx are not compatible with PetSafe microchip pet doors.
The door is powered by 4 AA Alkaline batteries (estimated battery life of 12 months). The low battery indicator light will flash red when it's time to change the batteries.
